Milk, of course, tastes best when fresh. So, to ensure the freshest milk in the store, we partner with dozens of local and regional organic dairy farms throughout the United States. One of those dairies, the Kroll farm in Central Minnesota, is truly a family affair.
The family milks 32 cows on their 380-acre organic farm, which has been in continuous operation for over 100 years, through five generations of dairy farmers. Hans Kroll bought the land from his dad in 1988. Stable organic milk prices have allowed Hans to bring in his daughter and son-in-law to help run the farm.
"We're able to support two families," says Hans. "Organic makes us hopeful for the future of family farming."
