What do they supply for Wild Harvest?

Wild Harvest Organic Fair Trade Chocolate Bars

Where does it come from?

Vancouver, BC

Fifth generation chocolatier, Karlo Flores, can proudly claim to be among the first fine organic chocolate producers in the world, founding Terra Nostra Organic Chocolatiers in 1998. He brings years of experience and history to his craft, a primary reason his bars won awards for Superior Taste from ITQI of Brussels in 2006 & 2007.

After the birth of his children, Karlo realized he wanted to make the world a better place by offering ethically grown, international organic chocolate. This combination of traditional expertise, along with social and environmental conscientiousness, has made the partnership between Karlo and Wild Harvest particularly sweet.

Karlo is an active member of the global chocolate community through a unique form of social giving called Equitable Trade Alliance. Equitable Trade was developed and nurtured to avoid exploitation of cocoa and cane sugar growers in countries where fairness is sometimes forgotten. We then jointly return $0.10 per pound of the wholesale cost of our finished Wild Harvest chocolate back into the communities where our cocoa comes from.

Karlo continues to look for and partner with farmers and organizations who share our sense of responsibility. He's expanding his supply base to include those certified by Rain Forest Alliance, Fair Trade Labeling Association and the Institute for Marketecology, international agency for the inspection, certification and quality assurance of eco-friendly products. To offset the impact of their production locations in the U.S. , Europe and Canada, Karlo purchases BEF carbon offset credits assisting the development of renewable energy sources like solar power and wind farms.
